Easter Fun
On Friday, April 8th, our youngest residents came together to dye and decorate some eggs and take part in Easter-themed games. The following day, April 9th, was our annual Easter egg hunt. The kids were divided into three age groups: 3 and under, 4 to 7, and 8 to 12. Three lucky sleuths (one from each age group) found the golden eggs, each going home with a special prize.
On behalf of the Recreation Committee, I would like to thank everyone who came out to our Easter festivities! It was wonderful seeing so many kids and families from our borough coming together once again. I would be remiss if I did not give a huge “thank you” to the entire Recreation Committee and all those who help make these events so special. Together this group boiled 27 dozen eggs, stuffed over 1,000 plastic eggs, and made our events festive and fun. Thank you to Councilmembers Powers, Purcival, and Sweigart, Mayor Roman, Dena and Mike Sweeney, Judy and Matt Saunders, Beth Hale, Minnie Didomenico, Maribeth McGettigan, Sarah Haynes, Gail Costigan, the Parkside Fire Department, and of course the Easter Bunny for making two very special appearances! These events would not have been possible without all of your time and energy.
Again, I hope that everyone had lots of fun, and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events! If you have any feedback that you’d like to share, or if you are interested in planning future events, please reach out! (mcostigan@parksideborough.com)
